Meeting Point: Neptune Fountain by the Rote Rathaus or the Red City Hall building / Rathausstrasse 1
Duration; approx 3.0 hours.
Personally one of our favorites. A tour that starts at the Neptune Fountain by Alexander Platz in front of the Rote Rathaus or Berlin’s main city hall. From there we leap into Hackesher Markt the old Jewish quarter and make some stops at sights like the New Synagogue on Oranienbugerstrasse and go over a bit of jewish settlement if you will in Berlin which was documented first in 12-1300’s and briefly to our modern days including of course the Nazi era. Pass the Berlin Mauer memorial at Bernauerstrasse and the BND or the German CIA. Headquarters and pass by the sight where Günter Litfin, who was one off the first shot by the East German border police trying to escape to West-Berlin on August 24th. 1961. Don´t miss this one as we conway this tour like all our others with passion and in an informative fashion as to give a bit of an idea of this vibrant, dynamic city that it is today and was before but that was also torn up with much drama and brutality before. Please be advised that we do not provide bikes nor are they included in our price. Kindly refer to; suggested bike rentals on the site or ask us.
